My Big Toe ~ Grace ~ Building Block Series

Yippppeeeeee! I'm done!
Well, I posted on line last
week and I finished today.
As I posted earlier I stitched
this on R&R 40 ct
Creme Brulee 2/2. I used
the threads suggested:
Gentle Arts: Black Raspberry Jam
and Briar Rose... the only change
I made was to stitch the Rhodes
Diamond in Briar Rose. It comes out to be 6.3" square and fits beautifully in an 8x8 frame.

I've been preusing my patterns
for the next project... or should I say projects...
I have started ABC Fraktur
by With My Needle ~ Brenda Gervais http://www.countrystitchesonline.com/index.php

Also to start: LHN ~ Heart of America http://www.littlehouseneedleworks.com/home.html

More snow...

Well, I sit here in my nice, warm house and look out at the snow. It started last night and I think that it has snowed since... big goose feathers coming down. Don't shoot me... I'm not tired of it yet... weird... I'm usually ready for spring long before now but there is something peaceful about watching it snow here in the mountains...

Anyways... thought I'd share a finished project... one of my first from last year. It's called Blessed Are... designed by Sue Stadler of Crossing Montana and the kit was put out by Kreinik. Done on
32 ct Linen (Flax color) the threads are Kreinik Silk Mori.

Bill's Stocking

This is the stocking made for my Brother in law, Bill. It is Shepherd's Bush Stocking ~ Robert.

It is stitched on 10 ct with DMC #5 Pearl. It stitched up very nicely and quickly... I was surprised how fast it went.

I have a gal that I send it to. She does a lovely job finishing them. I will post a picture when I get it back. I want to finish the stocking for my sister first and send them at the same time.

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope the day was the loveliest!

Sooooo many blogs!!!

Good Morning!!!
Oh my... there are sooo many awesome blogs out there... I have added links to some of what I'm following... but I have to figure out how to add some of the others too... no time this morning... have to get out of the house and head for town!

It's 9am... I've been up since 6... took the kids to school and am now relaxing... watching light snow fall gently down. We used to live on the east side of the Rockies... the snow NEVER came gently or straight down... usually it would fall at a 45 degree angle with 10-20 mph wind. This is very relaxing and theraputic for me. I can hear my dogs snoring.
I think I need more coffee.

Ordered more charts/fabric and threads... is every crafter/stitcher/quilter out there like that? It's an illness I think... but isn't it lovely to run your hands over beautiful quilt fabric or though a big stash of buttons... or to gaze at gorgeous threads??? And Linen... Oh and probably my favorite WOOL ~ I love wool... went on a major spree of collecting wool... and dying wool... Maybe it's just me... but I don't think so. (below beautiful Valdani pearl~Vintage Hues)I have been working on a new stocking for my brother-in-law... almost finished ~ will post when it's done.

This is a piece of tapestry that someone framed...

it was my great grandma's...

I love it ~ it's very special to me.

Some of my projects...

Mocking Bird by La~d~da... stitched on 28 ct ~ one over. It turned out nicely.

I absolutely love Quaker inspired stitching... This is my first go at it... to date the stitching is done but the items are not actually sewn... I will post when I get them finished.

Quaker Schoolgirl Needle Necessities by With My Needle. Stitched as instructed on 32 ct Maple Sugar from Lakeside Linens... I used the Milady's Teal for the sewing kit.

For the needle kit I used other colors: Bandana, Briar Rose and Wavy Navy.
I also love My Big Toe Designs... The Building Block GRACE is my first project. I am working on the border and then I will start the words... I used the colors suggested: Blackberry Jam and Briar Rose. I am stitching on R&R Creme Brulee 40ct over 2.

The Beginning

Hi! I'm Kim and I'm new to this whole thing... I've never blogged. I really haven't followed many but I'm inspired by other stitchers blogs... so I thought I'd give it a try.
A little about me... I love God, my husband, my boys and my dogs! I love the outdoors.
I love Sheep and Wool... and everything Wool! I have raised sheep for the last 16 years and just sold the last of my girls in August... I do miss them. I have toyed with the idea of a wool business... I'm not sure how but I'm still thinking on it...
I love to stitch and quilt. I have needle punched and rug hooked and I throughly enjoyed those too but have a harder time to finishing the projects.
I hope to meet other crafty stichers with whom I can share ideas...
God bless...
Kim
